Countdown to club re-launch begins
A re-launch event will mark the completion of works to restore an iconic building which has been serving the Spalding community since 1937.
Regent Bingo in Spalding will showcase its makeover at its re-launch event on Friday 12th October.
The ?200,000 investment includes a refurbished main hall with new carpet and reupholstered seating, a new disabled toilet along with restoration works to the external canopy.
General Manager Claire Dixon said, ?The refurbishment has given the building a new lease of life. We have specifically focused on works that will improve the customer?s overall comfort and experience inside the main hall including better disabled facilities to ensure we meet the needs of all our customers.”
The club also features a machine arcade and licenced bar also serving sandwiches and snacks although there are plans to extend the food offer as part of the next phase of development.
Claire added, ?We?re incredibly grateful to our members for their continued support whilst the works have been going on. We?re aiming for a full house on the re-launch night and have a whole week of activities planned to entertain, surprise and delight our customers.?
Tickets for the event are now on sale, priced ?15 which includes a welcome drink all your bingo, live entertainment and celebrity guest. There will be prizes for the first lady and gentleman to arrive in club.
On the night there will be ?1,700 prize money up for grabs and 33 chances to win!
The celebrations will see performances from local artists, singer Meg McPartlin who will greet guests in the foyer and local band Zebra who will perform on stage during the evening.
A ribbon cutting ceremony and speech by local MP John Hayes will mark the official re-launch. Soap star Andrew Whyment who plays Kirk in Coronation Street will host a meet and greet for guests as well as calling the first game of bingo on the night.

The building first opened on 10th June 1937 as the Savoy a cinema with Irene Dunne in ?Theodora Goes Wild?. At the time the cinema was built, it was the largest purpose built cinema in Lincolnshire. Due to declining audience numbers, the cinema closed in 1970 to become a permanent bingo club, now known at the Regent Bingo Club which has been operating for over 40 years.
